Monthly Shoot: There is no competition scheduled for the April 3rd Sunday, but the range will be open from 1:00 to 4:00 PM if there is a volunteer to serve as range officer for those 3 hours. If no one is interested, the range will open to those Range Officers who want to shoot on their own.

The Turkey gun patterning open range is scheduled from 9:00AM to 3:00PM Saturday, 7 April for those interested. Contact Floyd McCadden at 426-4204 for more information.

Floyd McCadden and I are planning to sponsor an egg shoot for the May 3rd Sunday–that is 20th May. Call either one of us (Floyd at 426-4204 or Tom at 432-2580) for more info or to get involved.

Schutzenboomer. Will be scheduled late summer or early fall. Contact Eric Kozowski 432-2214 for information, or to volunteer to help.

Long Range Black Powder Cartridge Rifles: A range for this activity has been designated on the north edge of the property and Jack Thompson will be coordinating the fabrication of suitable steel targets to be set in place this spring. Contact him if you are interested in this sport, or want to participate in this special range development–432-3214

Classes: A Range Safety Officer course will be scheduled as soon as 20 members pony up the bucks ($35 plus $3 for the SOPs). Contact Duncan Hunter at 569-2008 to pay your money to get on the list.

Friends of the NRA: The 2nd Wallowa County Friends of the NRA banquet/fund raiser is on the calendar for Saturday, 18 August at the Joseph Community Center.

Editorial: You will notice this newsletter is "bare bones" primarily because of my schedule of spring time work. If you are interested in getting involved in more than contemplating your navel while waiting for others to get busy working on the range so you can shoot, my suggestion is to get off your duff and start getting participating in Association activities. Obviously, the more folks who work, the faster the facility will be ready to use. The added benefit is the fact that you may increase your circle of friends by meeting other members who have something on the ball or similar interests.

Advertising:
